Curbs by Matt was born out of the recognized need for high quality exposed aggregate curbing in Calgary and surrounding areas. We believe there is a better way to do curbing, and we are positioned to provide this service.

What are the best places for exposed aggregate curb?

In both yards and acreage settings, exposed aggregate curbing works brilliantly as a deterrent for grass to grow into driveways, garden beds, and tree rings. At golf courses and other locations with pathways, curbing offers an aesthetically appealing barrier and guide.
What is the life expectancy of brushed, exposed, or smooth aggregate curb?

While there are various factors that can affect the exact lifespan of a particular curb, with our specialized procedure, the curbs we install will still look great decades later.
How much curb can you lay in a single day?

Our equipment and crew are specialized for large jobs, so while we can usually guarantee 500 feet per day (weather permitting), we can often easily exceed that estimate.
Will the finished curb look grey like standard cement?

The choice is yours. Our most popular colours are brown, dark grey, and grey. However, we will show you a variety of mix options and help you select the best colour and curb profile for your project. For a more custom look, additional colours are available.
Exposed aggregate curbing has been shown to last longer and to be more stable than stamped sand curb, so the simple answer relates to both longevity and strength. Even with a specialized mix, sand curb has a lifespan that is less than half of aggregate curb. Sand curb is also much more likely to suffer from breakage and weather cracking.
